Art with Impact.

A curatorial studio releasing edition objects

CraftAble turns the work of artists with disabilities into clothing and other products. The artist is credited, and compensated.

What we do

  1. Art

Drawing, painting, pattern, lettering. If it is original work, it can become a product. No design training needed.

  2. Seen

We adapt the work for print and turn it into clothing and other products. We handle production, sales and the paperwork.

  3. Recognised. Valued.

Their name goes on every product that carries their work, and they are compensated for it. Then they make more.

Two ways to work together

We agree on one with each artist, or with the group they work in, before anything is made.

We acquire the workWe license the work
Who owns the workCraftAble, after buying the work and its rightsThe artist keeps ownership
How the artist is compensatedCompensated for the workCompensated as the products sell
CreditBoth ways: Named on every product
For associations: how a partnership works

Partnering with us redefines the artist’s autonomy.

We aim to emancipate the artist, giving them autonomy through recognition for the product of their work. Compensation for each work is tailored to each artist’s circumstances.

  1. We look at the artist’s situation

Their benefits, their needs, and what they want from the work.

  2. We check the rules where they live

Benefit rules differ from country to country, and so does each agreement.

  3. We agree the form of compensation

Everyone deserves a place in the spotlight for their uniqueness. CraftAble aims to represent resilience and inclusion. It is a movement to empower People of Determination to be bold and brave. CraftAble creates real market opportunities for artists who have the courage to stand out.

Not charity. Work, recognition and a fair return.

Every product carries a label with the name of the artist who made the work.

  1. The artist’s work, printed on the piece
  2. A label with the artist’s name, in every piece

The label, in detail

The artist’s name comes first Where they live Our name comes last
Example: where the artist’s work and name go

Why we exist

Caring for Mariana taught me that we are capable of much more than the limits others try to draw around us.
